'Law and Order: SVU' season 17 spoilers, plot news: The SVU team investigates the rape of a contestant in a dating show
The seventeenth season of "Law and Order: SVU" only has a few episodes left before it comes to a close on May 25, and this week's episode will bring the team together to probe on yet another unique case.

In the 21st episode of the season titled "Assaulting Reality," the SVU team will investigate a crime which involves a contestant in a reality dating show who claims to be raped.
A previous report from The Hollywood Reporter dated early this March noted that the show will have a "The Bachelor"- themed episode later in the season. According to the media outlet,the hour will put focus on "Heart's Desire," a fictional dating show. It will feature the backstage drama when the show is not rolling, specifically the married creators in charge of the show along with the participants on-screen.
According to the official synopsis, Oliva Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team will go undercover and take part in the reality dating show to probe on a case involving a contestant who was allegedly raped while in the show. The summary for episode 21 reads: "The producers of a reality dating series make Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and the SVU part of the show when they investigate a contestant's claim that she was raped."
As seen in the promo clip, the contestant who claims to be raped breaks out in the middle of the show, saying, "I don't remember any of this." While almost tearing up, she said: "He raped me!" before the producers cut the show. Meanwhile, the suspect who was being questioned by the SVU team denied the allegations, and his defense was that it was all part of the script.
