A Kentucky church announced that it will be marking its fifteenth-year anniversary of a drive-thru nativity scene this holiday season.

The nativity display will be hosted at the Green River Baptist Church in Cromwell, Kentucky and will feature several different themes from the Bible, allowing motorists to drive through the display and view each scene.

As The Christian Post reports, each scene will reportedly include live actors, costumes, and holiday-themed music.

As Kelly Harris, the pastor at Green River Baptist, told The Christian Post, the purpose of the display is to share the good news of Christmas with all who have the time to drive through the nativity.

"This is competing with the secular view of Christmas, where it is all about cash and monetary things. We wanted to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to our community," Harris told the Christian media outlet.

The Green River Baptist Church isn't the only congregation taking part in a drive-thru nativity scene. Churches in Huntington Beach, California, Van Wert, Ohio, and Cowetta County, Georgia have all announced their plans to host a drive-thru nativity for the holiday season.

In 2014, Pastor Pete Youmans of Davidson Baptist Church in Grapevine, Kentucky said his congregation had decided to create a drive-thru nativity in response to the hustle and bustle of the modern-day Christmas season.

"We felt the same way as a lot of folks - that Christmas gets so busy and rushed that they forget the real reason for Christmas," Youmans told the local WKYT-TV. "We thought this would give people, especially children, a real opportunity to hear the true Christmas story."
