Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson, 'Twilight' reboot news: Kristen, Rob open to reuniting for reboot? FKA Twigs devastated?
"Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, both of whom shot to stardom after headlining the film series, are reportedly open to reprising their roles in a possible reboot.
While the fifth and final "Twilight" film was released more than four years ago and both Stewart and Pattinson have moved on from their real-life romance, fans of the fantasy saga are reportedly still desperate to see the former couple back together onscreen.
According to Inquisitr, there is a possibility that a "Twilight" reboot could actually happen. Earlier this year, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group's co-chairman Patrick Wachberger spoke about the series' future, telling Screen Daily that it all depends on "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer.
"It's about Stephenie," he said. "If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we're here for her," Wachberger added.
The Lionsgate boss may have unwittingly implied that the original cast would be willing to reappear in a reboot if they were asked. Both Stewart and Pattinson have reportedly expressed their openness to returning to the franchise. These reports, however, are unconfirmed.
Unfortunately, a "Twilight" reboot now seems impossible given that Meyer has previously confirmed that she was done with the whole thing and wanted to move on. In an interview with Variety back in 2013, Meyer said, "I'm interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle-earth. I get further away [from Twilight] every day."
"For me, it's not a happy place to be," she added.
Meanwhile, FKA Twigs, Pattinson's new partner, is reportedly "devastated" about the possibility of her beau reuniting with his ex, Stewart, for another film. There are also speculation that Pattinson's career was negatively affected by his breakup with Stewart and that since dating FKA Twigs, he has received fewer offers for endorsements.
