'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date news 2016: Short prelude to 'KH3' to arrive soon, says game director

Square Enix is set to release a short prologue game for the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 3," where the players can have a sample experience of the new worlds that the latest game installment is about to explore.
"Kingdom Hearts" game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed in an interview with Famitsu (via Gematsu) that the players will be able to take a peek at the new "Kingdom Hearts" video game with the launching of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" collection. Specifically, the part of the collection called "Birth by Sleep 0.2 - A Fragmentary Passage" will contain several game contents that will be incorporated to the third "Kingdom Hearts" installment. As an example, the short game prelude will feature a free running and open world exploration.
The plan to include a short prelude for "Kingdom Hearts 3" before the full version of the video game will be released is intended to allow players to catch up with the game's story. It will also allow players outside of Japan to catch up with the initial release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" to its origin country, although the worldwide launch of the game is expected to be nearly simultaneous.
The contents of "Birth by Sleep 0.2" is set to be transferred to the Keyblade transformations in "Kingdom Hearts 3," ensuring that the elements of the prelude game will not appear as scrapped contents in the forthcoming sequel. Nomura claims that "Birth by Sleep 0.2" was originally a part of "Kingdom Hearts 3," although it was decided to remove it from the game's full version as it would make the plot thicker and longer with more backstories.
Meanwhile contrary to earlier rumors, game co-director Tai Yassue revealed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not include any world from the popular "Final Fantasy" video game franchise. Even though "Kingdom Hearts" has some characters from the "Final Fantasy" series, Square Enix maintains to keep off these original worlds.
"We're not adding any Final Fantasy worlds. A lot of the original (to Kingdom Hearts) worlds (Hollow Bastion, Traverse Town, etc.) had Final Fantasy characters in them. At this moment, we are not really coming up with any plans for that, we're making original worlds and Disney worlds," Yassue said via Game Spot.
