The confirmed details are limited regarding the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts" video game. It has already been rumored several months ago that the next "Kingdom Hearts" installment is arriving soon, and many fans are already hyped regarding the new worlds that the game is going to explore next. The previous "Kingdom Hearts" titles had featured different contents and worlds from existing popular mythos. In fact, it is speculated that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be featuring worlds from the "Final Fantasy" game series. Although recently, "Kingdom Hearts" game director himself downplayed the rumor.

"Kingdom Hearts" co-director Tai Yasue revealed in an interview with Famitsu that the upcoming game will be featuring a lot of new contents for the series. Yasue spilled some important details during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 last month. The director kept mum regarding the exact worlds that are going to be featured in "Kingdom Hearts 3," although he did reveal the worlds that are not going to appear in the video game. While many players are looking forward to seeing worlds from the recent "Final Fantasy" video games being featured in the next "Kingdom Hearts," it is unlikely that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will exploring the "Final Fantasy" world.

Moreover, Yasue said that the players will get the chance to explore wide and different areas in "Kingdom Hearts 3," although the maps are going to be so huge that the players may have to familiarize themselves with these locations before moving on to the game missions. The expansive area of the new locations in "Kingdom Hearts 3" may cause the players to go on circles on the map and get lost.

The director also talked about the upcoming prequel video game for "Kingdom Hearts 3" called the "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue." It is a special PlayStation 4 game collection composed of three games, namely "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage-," "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD," and "Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover." Yasue claimed that having the copy of the "Kingdom Hearts" prologue and playing it before proceeding to the new "Kingdom Hearts" game is very important. The prequel game can also be altered easily due to Unreal Engine 4, Square Enix's latest game engine.
