Its premium design gives it an edge when compared to the Fire HDX, which has a plastic body, including its back panel, which has a matte finish. The device is easy to hold as it is thicker towards the middle and thinner at the edges. The iPad Mini 3 comes with a fingerprint sensor, which is lacking on the Fire HDX.
