Kim Kardashian: God 'Taught Me A Lesson' During Pregnancy
Socialite Kim Kardashian said in a recent interview that although she and husband Kanye West are hoping to expand their family, she sees the weight gain she experienced during her first pregnancy as a "lesson from God."
Kardashian, who is currently visiting New York City, said in a recent interview with Elle U.K. that she believes the 50 pounds she gained while carrying her first child, North West, last year was a "lesson from God" on being conscious about her weight, even during pregnancy.
"I'm an Armenian girl, I have shape, and it turned out people liked that. That makes me feel good about myself and about other women for being so supportive. I am a confident woman, but I didn't just arrive confident – it has built over the years and that is a big part of who I am now," the well-known socialite told the media outlet.
"I'd think God was doing this for a reason. He was saying: 'Kim, you think you're so hot, but look what I can do to you.'"
"My body just went crazy. After five months I swore I'd never get pregnant again. I got so huge and it felt like someone had taken over my body," the 34-year-old added.
Despite her initial regrets of gaining weight during pregnancy, Kardashian now says she'd like to expand her family with husband West, saying the couple would like to have at least two children together.
Kardashian added that it has taken her some time to get used to her famously-curvy figure, adding in the interview that "It's taken me a long time to be happy with my body and for my confidence to grow to what it is today. I grew up when the body to have was the tall, slim, supermodel one, like Cindy Crawford's. No one looked like me."
