The latest "Justice League Part 1" news confirmed that Jesse Eisenberg, who successfully gave justice to his role as Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," has confirmed that he will be reprising his role in the DC movie. However, fans are speculating as to who will play the main villain after reports rolled out that Darkseid is out of the picture, albeit not totally.

According to Crossmap, Darkseid might still play a role in the film, but a relative, Steppenwolf, will take center stage as the main villain. The report says Steppenwolf is an immortal with superhuman strength, reflexes, endurance, and speed. Being a highly talented military leader, he might just be the perfect match to prepare the Justice League for his uncle, Darkseid.

Meanwhile, Eisenberg has intimated that he's standing by until he is called for the film. This puts to rest some speculations that he may not appear in the 2017 film.

"I'm kind of in wait. They just started filming Justice League, so I'm kind of like waiting for my crack at it," the 32-year-old actor revealed during MCM London Comic Con.

Screen Crush further adds that Eisenberg, who became a household name after portraying Facebook henchman Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network," said he doesn't know what he's allowed to say, but that he would love to work with such a talented group of people.

Fans are hopeful that "Justice League Part 1" would fare better than "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which, after enjoying a blockbuster opening weekend failed to sustain the momentum. They are anticipating that Aquaman and Cyborg will be part of the film as several news reports claim.

The International Business Times reports that Warner Bros. is currently tweaking their upcoming projects under the DC Extended Universe, so as not to suffer the same fate as the Henry Cavill-Ben Affleck-starrer did.

"Justice League Part 1" is hitting theatres on Nov. 17, 2017.
