'Just Sing' karaoke release date news: Game announced; features more than 40 songs

A karaoke showdown can now be possible with Ubisoft's latest party karaoke game, "Just Sing." An addition to the video game publisher's music gaming portfolio, the game is made to be as fun as the dance video game "Just Dance."

As detailed on Polygon, the upcoming title is going to be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It's slated to be released this coming Sept. 6 and will be packed with more than 40 songs to choose from.

The game, which is created by "Elite Beat Agents" developer iNiS, will include soundtracks varying from classic songs like A-Ha's "Take On Me" and Queen's "I Want To Break Free" to modern hits like Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean" and Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do."

Other new songs that karaoke gamers can expect from the title include "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor, "Drag Me Down" by One Direction, "Chandelier" by Sia, "One More Night" by Maroon 5, "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd, and so much more.

As to how to go about with the game, Venture Beat explained that the game is not like the traditional karaoke and music games for consoles as it will not come with a USB microphone. All that players need are their smartphones which they will use by connecting to the game through an app. They will then hold up the handset the same way they would take a selfie.

This mode will air both the audio and video of the player's performance into the game. They can even opt to let the world see it if they wish to by going online. Ubisoft's blog also noted that players can record their own voice or lip-sync along to each song. There are even themes and filters provided that will let them customize their video for sharing purposes.

Two game modes will be available: the Party Mode and the Battle Mode. The former allows up to four players to make their own music videos while the latter is a showdown concept wherein one player faces off against a friend in a 1v1 singing battle.
