'Jupiter Ascending' Release Date, Cast News: Official Trailer Video Launched, Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum Feature
The official trailer of "Jupiter Ascending" has been released, finally shedding some light on the space-centric film due to hit the big screen on Feb. 6, 2015
Starring Channing Tatum as Caine Wise and Mila Kunis as Jupiter Jones, the movie revolves around Jupiter Jones, who is discovered to have a rare DNA that could allow her to inherit earth.
However, the aliens who have seeded Earth in the past see her as a threat and want to prevent her from taking over the House of Abrasax and Earth.
Meantime, Jupiter's DNA has drawn Caine to Earth. Caine is part human, part wolf but is defective as he is an albino. In the film he has a powerful sense of smell which he uses to track genes across the universe.
After his arrival, Caine proceeds to try and save Jupiter as the Abrasax siblings want her dead. They also want to harvest the "youth serum" on Earth so they can live eternally. The rest of the film deals with how Jupiter is able to escape the plotting of the Abrasax clan.
Helping Jupiter and Caine is Stinger (Sean Bean). Stinger has DNA spliced from bees which originally gave him wings. He also served along with Caine in the military. But after he sided with Caine in a dispute, his wings were removed and he was sent to back to Earth to be with his daughter.
"Jupiter Ascending" is produced by the Wachowskis who were responsible for creating the Matrix trilogy. According to MTV, this is a plus point, but it remains to be seen whether the film can do brisk business in February 2015 which is normally a slow month. The film was scheduled for release earlier but was pushed to February next year to allow further work on the CGI.
