Josh Duggar of the TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting" recently issued an apology after recent reports allege that Josh had inappopriately fondled five girls when he was 14-years-old.

Duggar, who is married to wife Anna, told People magazine that at the age of 14 he acted 'inexcusably" and regrets his actions. Josh is now 27-years-old and shares four children with wife Anna.

"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life," Josh told People magazine in a recent interview.

Josh is currently facing reports that he allegedly fondled five underage girls when he was 14-years-old in 2002 and 2003, reportedly fondling their genitals and breasts.

The incident was allegedly reported to police in 2006, and by that time the statute of limitations for the incident had expired.

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee recently spoke out in defense of Josh, saying in a statement on his Facebook page that media outlets should avoid "sensationalizing" Josh's past sins.

"Josh's actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn't mean 'unforgivable,' " Huckabee said in his Facebook post. "He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story."
