John Luke Robertson Says Marriage 'Based on God'

John Luke Robertson of the hit reality show "Duck Dynasty" has said that his recent marriage to wife Mary Kate Robertson is based on God's plan, and they plan to always look to God throughout their years of marriage.

John Luke recently told Richmond.com that he and his wife are both in a "relationship based on God."

"As far as relationships and marriage goes, we've discovered that the ones that put God first in their relationship last and the ones who put themselves first don't," John Luke told the media outlet.

"Our relationship is based on God in the fact that through His word, marriage is something holy and sacred, so we're in this to make that holy and sacred marriage. [...] We know we're going to stick together and figure it out no matter our emotions," Robertson added.

The 19-year-old couple married this past June on the Robertson family property in Monroe, Louisiana, where wedding planner Bethany Sigrest made flowers one of the central points of the wedding, per Mary Kate's wishes.

"[Mary Kate] wanted it real fun, real casual, and she wanted flowers to be a big central point of it all," Sigrest told Us Magazine following the nuptials.

The couple has gushed about their nuptial experience.

"I had an amazing time!" John Luke told Us magazine in a statement.

"It was one of the best days of my life! It was everything I hoped it would be and more," Mary Kate added.
