Jodi Arias Retrial Latest News: Trial Resumes After Hitting Snag

The Jodi Arias' retrial resumes today, Oct. 27, after Judge Sherry Stephens temporarily halted court proceedings on Thursday without giving any clear explanation.
In halting the retrial, Judge Stephens simply stated that "something had come up" and she asked to speak to juror number 17. Nobody else knew what they talked about, but Huffington Post clarifies that the summoned juror was not dismissed. Earlier, two jurors were dismissed.
In her retrial, Jodi Arias faces either a death sentence of a life term. She was convicted of the murder of Travis Alexander, her ex-boyfriend last year.
The sentencing phase of the trial saw the jury divided on whether she should receive the death penalty or a life sentence. This deadlock resulted in a retrial which commenced last week after 18 new members of the jury were selected.
Day 1 of the retrial saw the defense and prosecution making their openings statements on the case.
Afterward, Detectives Michael Melendez and Esteban Flores of the Mesa Police Department gave their testimonies. Melendez described how five buttons had to be used to delete photos from the camera that was found in the washing machine.
The second day of the retrial saw Dr. Kevin Horn , a medical examiner, testifying that Alexander was in a lot of pain before he died. The doctor noted that the victim was first stabbed, then his throat was slit and finally he was shot in the head.
Judge Stephens then informed the court that a juror has been dismissed after she asked a reporter if she was Nancy Grace.
On Day 3 of the retrial, Detective Flores was cross examined by the defense who questioned him about this testimony in 2009, in which he stated that Alexander was shot first.
After which Amanda Webb, a witness of the state, testified that she never saw Arias return the gas can she had purchased earlier in the day. Finally in the day, Kevin Friedman of Yreka Police Department testified for the prosecution.
