'Jessica Jones' season 2 updates and spoilers: Creator hints the series' new Big Bad, Jessica to deal with issues after killing Kilgrave

Critically-acclaimed superhero series "Jessica Jones" has been renewed earlier this year for a sophomore run, and fans may be wondering what's in store for the second season of their favorite show.
Kilgrave (David Tennant) is arguably one of Marvel's most fearsome villains, but his confrontation with Jessica (Krysten Ritter) led to his demise in season 1. Tennant's captivating performance as the show's main antagonist in the first season is definitely difficult to beat, but series creator Melissa Rosenberg mentioned that all they needed was to draw on Jessica's personal grudges.
"For this show, for this character, the 'big bad' is all about how personal it is to her," Rosenberg said during New York Magazine's Vulture Festival. "Having some guy go in and say, 'I'm going to take over the city!' [She] doesn't care. It's not going to resonate. So whatever we do just has to be intimate or personal in a way. Not necessarily the history or such, but just connected directly."
The showrunner also hinted that Jessica will have to deal with a lot of complications after she killed Kilgrave. "The reason she doesn't just walk up and kill him is she doesn't let him define her in that way," Rosenberg stated. "She walks away with some really complicated stuff going on, which we'll be able to explore next season."
Ritter, who portrays Jessica also gave her take on season 2, particularly on how much she looks forward to seeing what happens with her relationship with Malcolm (Eka Darville). "An in for me in playing Jessica was her relationship with Malcolm," the actress said. "I'm excited to see what this one [Rosenberg] comes up with moving forward."
As of this writing, the network has yet to announce an official premiere date for "Jessica Jones" season 2. Aside from the heroine's stand alone series, Jessica will also appear in the upcoming Marvel mini-series titled "The Defenders."
