"Jessica Jones" still has a long way to go before its second season hits the small screen, but it's never too early to speculate on what's next for the heroine. Rumor has it that The Punisher is one of the many characters who will make an appearance in the upcoming installment.

Although there are not a lot of information on what to expect in the show's sophomore run, reports say that Jessica Jones' (Krysten Ritter) investigation will lead hear to face multiple villains from IGH. Trish Walker's (Rachael Taylor) former lover Will Simpson (Wil Traval) is also expected to cross paths with Jessica. The previous season saw Will being taken away by the IGH and was transformed into Marvel villain known as Nuke. Additionally, Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) is expected to make an appearance in "Jessica Jones."

According to reports, the arrival of Jon Bernthal's character in the series is not far from possible. For instance, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) is one character who appears in three Marvel programs including "Daredevil," "Luke Cage," and "Jessica Jones." Mike Colter, who plays the titular role in the upcoming Marvel series "Luke Cage," also made his debut in "Jessica Jones."

Meanwhile, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held last week wherein "Jessica Jones" bagged one award, making it the first Marvel series to ever win an Emmy.

For the uninitiated, Creative Arts Emmys are awarded to candidates in the TV industry who have "achieved technical excellence" over the previous year. "Jessica Jones" was nominated for two Creative Arts Emmys: Outstanding Main Title Theme Music and Outstanding Main Title Design. The series won for its theme music, with music composer Sean Callery taking home the award. Aside from its recent Emmy win, the critically-acclaimed series also earned a Peabody Award and a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Representation.

Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for "Jessica Jones" season 2, but it is speculated to return sometime on 2017 or 2018.
