Netflix's critically acclaimed dark superhero series "Jessica Jones" has been confirmed to have another season, but it will take some time before it returns to TV screens.

According to Bloomberg, the second season of "Jessica Jones" will start production next year. Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg was in New York recently, where she caught up with the said publication to talk about the series' production. As of now, it seems like the show is in its early stages as Rosenberg talked about finding crew and staff. "New York is an incredibly busy town right now, which makes it more challenging to find great crews, because everybody is working," the showrunner said.

Rosenberg praised the series' lead actress Krysten Ritter, who is also known for her work in AMC's hit series "Breaking Bad" as Jane Margolis and in "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" where she played the titular role as Chloe. Unlike Daredevil and Batman, Jessica Jones does not wear a mask. This makes the role more challenging because Ritter has to do most of her stunt scenes, like jumping on the subway track while fighting with the bad guys. "Man, Ritter just went for it. She is fearless, that woman. We didn't fake anything," Rosenberg stated.

It wasn't such a surprise when Netflix renewed the series for another season, since it garnered mostly positive reviews. Variety's chief TV critic Maureen Ryan even described it as "not just a contender for the title Best Marvel-related TV Property; in a supremely crowded TV scene, it is one of the year's most distinctive new dramas. "

Previously, Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos already clarified via Slash Film that the production of "The Defenders" will be prioritized. "The complex one is The Defenders - the schedule for that show will determine season two and season three outputs for the other shows," he said. This only means that it will take a while before Jessica Jones goes on her own adventures.
