Jessa Duggar Posts Bible Quote About Sin Following Brother's Ashley Madison Scandal
Jessa Duggar of the former TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting" recently posted a Bible quote relating to sin on social media following the revelation that her brother, Josh Duggar, used the Ashley Madison extra-marital affairs website.
Duggar, who is currently pregnant with her first child, posted a message about sin on her Instagram account this week.
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us," the verse, entitled "Walk in the Light," reads. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
A recent data reveal from the Ashley Madison website, which allows users to seek out extramarital affairs, shows that Jessa's older brother Josh Duggar held two accounts with the website, spending nearly $1,000 to maintain the accounts over several years.
Duggar released a statement describing himself as "the biggest hypocrite ever," adding that he has brought "a reproach" to his family.
"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife," Duggar said in a statement Thursday.
"I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust," Duggar said.
