Jennifer Aniston has been getting Oscar-worthy reviews in her performance as Claire Simmons in the film "Cake."

The film also got a standing ovation when it was screened as part of the Toronto Film Festival.

"Cake" was originally due for release in January 2015. However, Cinelou has decided to release it for one week in December this year after the film drew rave reviews during the Toronto film Festival.

This will help the film qualify for the Oscars in 2015 and could even result in Aniston being nominated in the "Best Actress" category.

Aniston's performance is being described as "heartbreakingly good, alternately bitingly dramatic and funny while portraying of a woman suffering with chronic pain."

Reacting to the positive buzz around the film, Aniston told Deadline that "It was such an emotional moment for me. I was nearly brought to tears. When I read the script I knew it was the role of a lifetime and I could not turn it down. "

In "Cake," Claire Simmons, who suffers from chronic pain, is part of a support group that helps several others with the same problem. The film opens with Simmons and the rest of the group dealing with the suicide of Nina, who was said to have jumped off a bridge, leaving behind her husband and son.

Simmons is helped by her housekeeper/friend Silvana (Adriana Barraza) who is an immigrant from Mexico. But the crux of the movie revolves around Simmons starting a rather dubious relationship with Nina's husband Roy, played by Sam Worthington. She does this because she starts seeing hallucinations of Nina encouraging her to meet Roy and her son.

Finally Deadline notes that the role of Claire Simmons has proven to pundits that Aniston has a lot of untapped potential, which was first seen in films such as "The Good Girl" and "Management."
