Fans of the romantic comedy-drama TV show developed by Jennie Snyder Urman "Jane the Virgin" have been rooting for the titular character to find the love of her life, to lose her virginity, and to live happily ever after.

As previously reported, the narrator for The CW's show Anthony Mendez revealed that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will lose her virginity in the upcoming season. The narrator also teased the possibility of new relationships in the forthcoming season.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Jennie Urman confirmed the recent speculations. Urman told the news outlet, "She does lose her virginity this year." She added, "It's in the first half of the season, and it's quite a big episode for us."

Now fans are dying to know who the lucky man is. Could it be her new husband Michael (Bratt Dier)? Or will it be her other suitor Rafael (Justin Baldoni)? Jane's husband was unfortunately shot last season before they could consummate their marriage. Or perhaps Jane could lose her virginity to a new contender for her heart in the show?

Jane's childhood friend Sam, who will be portrayed by "Young and Restless" actor Miles Gaston Villanueva, is going to reportedly stir up Jane's love life. His appearance in the show has made fans rather tense. Rumor has it that Michael will be dying next season and will be replaced by Jane's longtime friend.

More importantly, fans are trying to uncover how losing her virginity will affect Jane. The showrunner implied that this would affect her in some way. Rodrgiuez told EW that Jane's character goes through an evolution. She teased, "How is losing her virginity going to play into her life, her psychology, how she views herself, and how she views her intimacy?"

Fans can get all their answers in the third season of "Jane the Virgin" which premieres on The CW on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. EDT.
