Anthony Mendez, the narrator of The CW's romantic comedy-drama TV show "Jane the Virgin," recently revealed that the titular character Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will finally lose her virginity in the upcoming season.

"At this point, we don't know where they're heading with anything," Mendez told Bustle in an interview. "All I do know is that (executive producer) Jennie (Snyder Urman) had mentioned that Jane would lose her virginity this season, but we either don't know or can't say when that happens," he added.

Although the narrator made such a big reveal, fans are unsure if Jane is going to lose her virginity with her husband Michael (Brett Dier). To note, the couple got married last season but was not able to consummate their marriage because Michael was shot.

"This season we might see things possibly steam up with new relationships," Mendez revealed. "I can't say whether that's with Michael or somebody else from her past that's coming in," he continued.

As previously reported, Jane's childhood crush Sam, who will be portrayed by "Young and Restless" actor Miles Gaston Villanueva, is going to appear next season. Little is known about Sam but recent speculations suggested that he might replace Gina's dying husband.

Since the previous seasons showed the love triangle between Jane, Michael, and Rafael (Justin Baldoni), the show might need another character to complete the triangle.

Michael might be dying next season but Dier's presence in the first table read implied that the character will be well enough to speak in the first episode.

Fans don't know how to take all the dizzying speculations about the forthcoming season. However, fans don't need to wait that long to know the fate of Michael and Jane.

The third season of "Jane the Virgin" will return on The CW on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. EDT.
