'Jane the Virgin' season 3 release date, spoilers: Anezka's future plans, main theme to focus on growing up
Hit comedy-drama series "Jane the Virgin" ended with a much-awaited wedding ceremony full of drama and surprises, along with a major cliffhanger which made fans crave for more answers.

In the final minutes of the episode, all hell broke loose as Michael's partner Susanna shot him after he figured out her true identity. Susanna later on revealed to Rose that she is Sin Rostro hiding behind a mask while Anezka put her sister in a coma to seduce Rafael. What happens next after the show's dark and shocking twist? Executive producer and showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman recently caught up with Deadline to share some details about the upcoming season which many fans wish to see very soon.
For Anezka's wicked plan to take over Petra's life, Urman confirmed that Magda was behind all of it. The backstory involving their relationship as a family as well as Anezka's goals in the future will be explored further in season 3. "Anezka has a few objectives," the showrunner hinted. "First, she is going to try to convince Rafael to sign over the Marbella to her. He has legal problems and she will argue the property will be "safer" in her name. She'll also try to get her mother out of jail. And of course, she does have a more personal agenda... #Rafazka #Anezkael"
Season 2 tackled Jane's journey to motherhood, and fans are now curious as to the main theme season 3 will have. "This next season will center around the idea of growing up — what it means, what it looks like, and what it costs," Urman confirmed.
In terms of Sin Rostro's presence in season 3, Urman was cautious not to give out too much details, but she shared what she adores about Luisa and Rose's relationship. "Without giving anything away, I will say that I love the relationship between Rose and Luisa," the EP stated. "Back in the first season, Luisa described their relationship to Michael as "the greatest love story ever told," which is the language we called back in this finale. I'd like to put the two of them in couples counseling next year, and see if they can work out their problems (ie. the fact that Rose killed Luisa's father). Can love conquer all? We'll see..."
The CW has yet to announce an official release date for "Jane the Virgin" season 3, but it will likely premiere sometime around October of this year.
