Islamic State Waterboarded James Foley, Other American Hostages

Details emerging about the captivity and death of American hostage James Foley indicates that he and other hostages were waterboarded by the Islamic State during their captivity.
A source close to one of the hostages still being held by the Islamic State told Reuters that Foley and at least three other hostages were waterboarded while they were held hostage by the al-Qaeda offshoot group in Raqqa, Syria.
"They knew exactly how it was done," the person, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters.
Another source close to the captive situation added to The Washington Post that "Yes, that is part of the information that bubbled up and Jim was subject to it."
"I believe he suffered a lot of physical abuse," the source added.
Foley was executed in a barbaric video posted to the internet last week by the Islamic State, which has been conquering cities in northern Iraq after declaring a caliphate in the Middle Eastern country.
Another American journalist, Steven Sotloff, is still in the custody of the Islamic State after he was kidnapped in Syria in 2013. The terrorist group is also reportedly holding a female American aid worker hostage.
Another video recently released by the Islamic State shows dozens of Syrian soldiers allegedly executed by members of the jihadist group. Although the video could not be independently verified by media outlets, the Islamic State claims it executed 250 soldiers in the video, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has put the death toll at more than 120.
