The Islamic State terror group released a video this week suggesting that a terror attack targeting Russia will happen "soon."

The SITE monitoring group announced this week that the terror group recently released a video in which militants promised that "soon, very soon, the blood will spill like an ocean" in Russia.

The Islamic State has threatened Russia in the past for joining the coalition that carries out airstrikes against the terror group in the Middle East.

Threats for a terror attack come after Islamic State militants in Egypt claimed responsibility for planting an alleged bomb on a Russian passenger airliner heading for a resort town in Egypt.

The plane was carrying 224 passengers when it suddenly went down over the Sinai Peninsula nearly two weeks ago.

Shortly after the crash, Islamic State militants claimed they had hidden a bomb in the plane's hold while it sat at St. Petersburg airport.

"The fighters of the Islamic State were able to down a Russian plane over Sinai province that was carrying over 220 Russian crusaders. They were all killed, thanks be to God," the terrorist group announced over Twitter shortly after the crash.

While the U.S. and Great Britain released statements arguing that a terror attack was the likely reason behind the plane's downing, Russian officials were more hesitant, releasing a statement arguing that there is a "probability" that the attack was terror-fueled.

"The probability of a terrorist act, of course, is held as a cause of what happened," Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in a recent interview.
