The Islamic State released a statement Monday mocking President Barack Obama and encouraging fellow militants to attack citizens of the United States, France and other countries who have joined in the campaign to destroy the terrorist organization.

Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, a spokesperson for the terrorist organization, said in a statement published on the SITE website that the Islamic State should target all western "crusaders" attempting to destroy the terrorist organization.

According to the recorded statement, made in Arabic and translated to English, Adnani claims that this recent U.S.-led strategy against the Islamic State will be the "final campaign of the crusaders."

"It will be broken and defeated, just as all your previous campaigns were broken and defeated," Adnani said, targeting certain groups for future attacks, including the U.S., France, Canada, Australia and others.

Adnani then speaks to Obama directly in the recording, referring to him as a "mule of the Jews."

"O mule of the Jews, you claimed today that America would not be drawn into a war on the ground. No, it will be drawn and dragged […] to its death, grave and destruction."

Earlier this month, the U.S. announced that it would begin a comprehensive strategy of defeating the Islamic State after the terrorist organization beheaded two American journalists. Congress approved the measure that will arm Syrian rebels in their fight against the Islamic State, and the U.S. and France have begun carrying out multiple airstrikes against the Islamic State strongholds in Iraq.

Obama has been clear in saying that although the U.S. will defeat the Islamic State, it will not do so by putting American combat troops on the ground in the Middle East.
