Islamic State Issues Death Threats To Twitter Employees

The Islamic State terrorist group has reportedly issued a thread towards employees of the popular social media platform Twitter.
The Islamic State group used Twitter to encourage "lone wolves" to carry out assassinations of Twitter employees, arguing that the social media's effort to curb Islamic State news by shutting down accounts affiliated with the terrorist group warrants death.
"#The_Concept_of_Lone_Wolf_Attacks The time has arrived to respond to Twitter's management by directly attacking their employees and physically assassinating them!! Those who will carry this out are the sleepers cells of death," the twitter post from an Islamic State-related account with the handle "Dawlamoon" read.
"The time has arrived to respond to Twitter's management by directly attacking their employees and physically assassinating them," another tweet from the handle read.
"Every Twitter employee in San Francisco in the United States should bear in mind and watch over himself because on his doorstep there might be a lone wolf assassin waiting," a third tweet, written in Arabic, read.
The social media platform has received some criticism for allegedly not doing enough to curb the spread of Islamic State information on its site, although it has repeatedly shut down Islamic State accounts over the past several months.
Twitter announced Monday that it had suspended the Dawlamoon account and launched an investigation into the threats made against its employees.
"Our security team is investigating the veracity of these threats with relevant law enforcement officials," a spokesperson for the social media platform told Mashable.
