Iron Man 4 Movie Release Date Happening? Latest Update - Robert Downey Jr. Contradicts Himself

There has been no concrete news about Iron Man 4, unless you take Robert Downey Jr. multiple statements about the film into account. Downey Jr. is appearing on various shows to promote his new film "The Judge". On each of these shows he has been continually asked about the fate of Iron Man 4. In reply to these questions Downey Jr. has managed to say several different things and even contradict himself.

The New York Daily News is reporting that on the on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Downey Jr. stated, "There's going to be a bunch more Marvel movies and they have big ideas on how to do it best, and we're in the middle of negotiations, blah blah blah."

When Ellen asked him to confirm Iron Man 4 was going ahead, he replied "Okay, yes".

Since that interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Downey Jr. again addressed the fate of the movie on The Late Show with David Letterman. When asked by Letterman he replied, "They (Marvel) do have a plan, and are going to announce but they're very secretive about it".

Then he also added, "Just between us, no, but I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel".

So with contradictory statements being made by Downey Jr. Forbes has deduced that he is talking about Iron Man 4 just so people will talk about his new movie "The Judge".

Forbes also points out that the Iron Man franchise has made Downey Jr. the highest paid actor in the world. He earned around $50 million from The Avengers and about the same sum for Iron Man 3. This, Forbes insists, is a big fee and Marvel might be thinking twice about paying so much for just one star, after the success of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" which did not have any major star within the cast.
