'Iron Man 4' latest news: Robert Downey Jr. down for one more solo movie?
For those who are wanting to see Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in a new "Iron Man" solo movie, there seems to be a good news forming on the horizon. There is now a possibility that the actor will once again reprise his role in a new "Iron Man" movie.

Online reports have pointed to the actor's interview witABC's "Nightline," where he revealed that he feels like he could still do one more movie as the popular billionaire genius with a powerful Iron suit. This sparked the speculation that he may be open for negotiations to star in a fourth solo "Iron Man" movie, despite the previous reports that he would no longer appear in a solo "Iron Man" movie. If there would be a new "Iron Man" film, it is reported that Marvel Studio will pick a new actor to play the role.
As Downey is not expected to star in a solo "Iron Man" movie for now, and there might be some talks in the future regarding the new actor to play the role, a huge conflict was reported in Marvel Studios because replacing RDJ is a very difficult thing to do. However, for the director of the first "Iron Man" film, Jon Favreau, there is only one actor he has in mind that would be fitted the play the role. The actor is no other than Robert Downey Jr. himself, as he believes there are no other actors today who can do the Iron Man role like Downey did with the previous Marvel feature films.
"Everybody knew (Robert Downey Jr.) was talented... Certainly by studying the 'Iron Man' role and developing that script I realized that the character seemed to line-up with Robert in all the good and bad ways... And the story of 'Ironman' was really the story of Robert's career," Favreau told Jack FM. "
During the director's separate interview with IGN, Favreau revealed that Downey is irreplaceable and the studio could not replace the actor easily for the role.
"To me he's the one element that has unified all of it, and I think kept a consistent tone, and the integrity of his acting ability and his talent really works wonderfully synergistically with the Marvel universe," he said.
Downey plays an important role in the third "Captain America" movie, "Civil War," and he is set to appear in future Marvel movies such as "Spider-man Homecoming" and the two-part "Avengers: Infinity Wars."
