iPod Touch 6 Release Date: Device Available By March 2015?

No news is bad news as far as the release date of the iPod Touch 6 is concerned. Over the past few months there has been a trickle of news about the iPod Touch 6G.

However, there is a silver lining to the gloomy cloud which has since descended on iPod customers, as many sites are reporting that the iPod Touch 6G could be released sometime in March 2015.

It was originally thought the new iPod would be released along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but that didn't happen. After the stunning debut of the new iPhones and their brisk sales, there was still hope that Apple would bring out the iPod Touch 6G within the next few months.

Then the rumor mill started to point towards the iPod Touch 6G rolling out along with the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 which came out in October, but that didn't happen. Apple did not offer any explanation about the delay.

Since then many tech gurus have commented that the release was delayed due to Apple's changed production plans.

With these rumors have come renewed speculation about the features in the iPod Touch 6G. Masterherald notes that the new iPod could come with Touch ID which is already present in many new Apple devices.

Since the iPod is an iconic device there have also been rumors that Apple is looking to create a design that keeps users loyal, while attracting new customers at the same time. This could point towards Apple reducing the clutter in the device and keeping it affordable for customers.

Other rumors indicate that the iPod Touch 6G could come with the NFC payment system just like the iPhone. There are also indications that Apple is looking to increase the size of the iPod and make it about 4.7 inches or something bigger like the iPhone 6 Plus.
