iPhone Trade-In Deals November 2014: Blackberry Offers $600 For iPhone Trade-In

In an exclusive offer to those in North America, BlackBerry is allowing users to purchase a BlackBerry Passport by trading in their iPhone for up to $600 in cash.

The offer will see people who trade in their iPhone 6 getting up to $400 in cash for their phone and an extra $200. While this is the offer for the latest iPhone, older Apple models such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S can also be traded in for up to $100, $135, $110 and $240, respectively. Each of these models will also get the additional $200 added to their trade-in value.

People who want to avail themselves of this offer have to buy a Passport online from either ShopBlackBerry.com or Amazon.com anytime between Dec. 1, 2014 and Feb. 13, 2015.

Comparing the trade-in value, BlackBerry says the current offer for a new iPhone 6 is $400 while those taking advantage of the trade-in can earn as much as $600.

The sweet deal to entice iPhone users to switch over to the latest BlackBerry model is making the Passport the biggest seller on Amazon, where it is available in its unlocked version.

Commenting on this trade offer from BlackBerry, Time says the company has seen its fortunes change dramatically over the last few years after losing the smartphone race to Apple and Samsung.

However, when the Passport debuted in September it sold over 200,000 in the first couple of days. It also sold out quickly on the BlackBerry website and on the online store Amazon.

The new offer is being seen as an attempt by BlackBerry to attract corporate customers who have over the years deserted the brand and switched to the iPhone range. In 2010 the company sold over 52.3 million units. This number dropped to 14 million in the last financial year.
