iPhone 8 release date, specs rumors: Big update underway, marking iPhone's 10th anniversary

The seventh installment of Apple's iPhone line was only introduced last month but tech junkies are already looking forward to the iPhone 8. Many were disappointed by the recent updates of the iPhone, especially when Apple decided to remove the standard headphone jack. Though little is known about the iPhone 8, reports suggest it will be a significant development.
According to reports, Apple has recently filed for a new patent that suggests the tech giant could be removing the home button of the iPhone 8. It will reportedly be replaced by a fingerprint sensor underneath the screen. The patent reportedly indicated a "capacitive fingerprint sensor including an electrostatic lens." The technology should work despite the various layers of the display.
Apple will possibly be adding new color options to the smartphone line. The tech giant will reportedly add a new deep blue and space black option. The latter will be glossier and darker than the space grey version. The gadget will reportedly have no bezel but it will have an all-glass edge-to-edge design.
Reports say that the iPhone 8 will have an OLED display which will consequently reduce the device's thickness. Furthermore, a 3D display will also be introduced but the usual 3D glasses will not be needed to access the feature.
The upcoming device's camera will feature an optical image stabilization feature which can be accessed through a dual-camera system. The cameras will have wide-angle and normal lenses.
If Apple sticks to its tradition, the iPhone 8 could be revealed in September next year. Many have high expectations for the iPhone since next year will mark the 10th anniversary of the smartphone line.
Apple junkies should treat the latest reports as speculation, until proven otherwise. Stay tuned for more updates on Apple's iPhone 8.
