If the latest reports are anything to go by, then the public can expect Apple to begin accepting preorders for the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus starting on Sept. 9. It has long been rumored that the next iteration of the Cupertino-based tech giant's smartphone will be out sometime this year. The recent rumors merely suggest that Apple is already in its final stage of preparation before the actual unveiling of the iPhone 7.

Evan Blass, a known and reputable industry blogger, has recently posted an update regarding the iPhone 7 on his Twitter account. He is known to be a reliable mobile phone leaker for the past several years, and with his latest revelations, many believe that the iPhone 7 is really coming this September.

9to5Mac reported Blass suggesting that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be unveiled by Apple around Sept. 12, with the units going on sale starting on Sept. 16. With this, it is expected that the pre-ordering period for the new iPhone 7 units will be a few days before its launch. This will fall on the first week of September.

Many people are very careful in reading the recent rumors and speculations online regarding the iPhone 7, although Blass already has the record of leaking information from a still unreleased gadget. He even revealed the codenames of the new iPhone 7 units, namely "Sonora" and "Dos," MacRumors reported.

The September 2016 schedule for the iPhone 7 is actually believable since Apple also made the official announcement of the arrival of the iPhone 6S on Sept. 9 last year. The pre-orders for iPhone 6S started on Sept. 12, while the units finally hit the stores on Sept. 25.

As for the rumored specs of the iPhone 7,Yibada reported that the body of the latest model will be similar to that of iPhone 6S. However, it is going to be the thinnest iPhone model yet with expected thickness of only 6.1 mm. The casing of the iPhone 7 is reported to be made of glass from front to back, sporting the same look of iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The glass cover of iPhone 7 will give the device a sharper look compared to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that are both made out of aluminum.

Forbes reported that one of the improvements that the iPhone 7 will be sporting is a more powerful speaker. The recent design leak for the upcoming device suggests that Apple is going to follow the trend started by the latest iPad Pro in the placement of the speakers by placing them in the four corners of the iPhone 7 handset. This is different from the "solitary mono speaker" of the previous iPhone models.
