The much-anticipated release of Apple's next-in-line mobile phone upgrade, the iPhone 7, is one of the biggest rumor buzzing in the tech world this year. Although there have been no official announcement or confirmation regarding the next generation of the iPhone flagship line, it has been reported that the Apple smartphone will be formally introduced to the public on September. However, the latest rumor may not be good to hear for the iPhone fans as the September 2016 launching initially reported will be pushed back to a later date.

Even if Apple have kept mum over the past few months regarding the development of iPhone 7, there is no stopping the phone enthusiasts to speculate that the company will follow its usual schedule of releasing model upgrades which is done during the Fall, as Bustle reported. To note, the iPhone 6 was first released in September 2014 while the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were both released in 2015. Unless Apple decided to continue the iPhone 6 line beyond 6S Plus, which would be the first time among all iPhone series if ever, it can be expected that Apple will go on with an all-new iPhone 7 this year.

However, new report suggests that the Fall release of iPhone 7 will not push through. Mac World reported a factor for possible delay as the Magnitude 6.6 earthquake in Taiwan in April 2015 caused damages to the TSMC factories, where the A10 chips are manufactured and exported to other countries. The A10 chips are reportedly included in the composition of iPhone 7 models, and if the report verified, a delay in the development of iPhone 7 can be expected.

So far, there are unconfirmed reports regarding the design features of iPhone 7. Yibada reported that the body of iPhone 7 will be similar to that of iPhone 6S.  However, it is going to be the thinnest iPhone model yet with expected thickness of only 6.1 mm. The casing of the iPhone 7 is reported to be made of glass from front to back, sporting the same look of iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The glass cover of iPhone 7 will give the device a sharper look compared to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that are both made out of aluminum.

In spite of the rumored delay, there are more hints that the iPhone 7 will come out soon as CNN reported that Walmart is having price rollback for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6E with $100 discount. This could be a way of setting up the stage for the iPhone 7.
