iPhone 7 Release Date Rumors: Apple May Release Not Just 2 But 3 Three New Devices In 2015

Apple is expected to release its iPhone 7in September 2015, the month when the company usually unveils its new smartphones and other devices. Recent rumors also indicated that the iPhone 7 will have sapphire glass.

While a September release makes sense for many Apple watchers, others say that since Apple is set to roll out the Apple Watch sometime during Spring 2015, it may announce the release of a new smartphone along with it.

With hype around the Apple Watch increasing and several sources predicting that the smartwatch will be very successful, it looks increasingly likely that Apple will release a phone along with it. The new phone could be an improvement of the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models and could be named the iPhone 6s. However, it is clear that it wouldn't be anything special in terms of specs and design as Apple is expected to keep these on hold until the iPhone 7 is released in September 2015.

Forbes states that it is unlikely that Apple will permanently switch to releasing two new phones in a year, as Sony had already experimented with that release formula, putting out the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 within a period of 12 months. However, Sony recently stated that it will be returning to the earlier model of releasing one new flagship smartphone every year.

So while Apple might release the iPhone 6s to encourage people to buy the Apple Watch along with a new paired iPhone, it could also decide to create a stockpile of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models and offer them at discounted rates along with the watch. This, according to Forbes, makes better business sense as these models are only a few months old and demand for them remains high.
