iPhone 7 black vs jet black photos, review: Which color iPhone 7 should you get?

Last Wednesday, Sept. 7, Apple launched the iPhone 7. The device will be available in two new colors — in glossy jet black and in a regular black with a matte finish. The usual gold, rose gold, and silver colors are still available.
The brand new jet black color looks very sleek and refined in photos. However, according to reports, the jet black finish will not age well. The glossy finish will easily accumulate fingerprints. But more importantly, the device will be relatively vulnerable to scratches.
Apple issued a warning, stating: "Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."
Furthermore, spectators noted that a demo phone showed clearly visible scratches. In addition, reports said that the phone looks better in photos. The glossy finish does not look as sleek in actuality.
On the other hand, the matte black iPhone 7 is reportedly darker than the previous space gray color, but not as dark as the glossy jet black option. The matte black finish will not be as prone to fingerprints and scratches.
Reviewers already expressed their distaste for the jet black phone. Sources said that its mirror-like finish makes it the most slippery iPhone. iPhone cases might resolve the problem of fingerprints and scratches but critics said this ultimately defeats the purpose of buying a very expensive and sleek phone.
Still, the most shocking reveal of the iPhone 7 had to be the loss of a headphone jack. Since the tech giant is launching a new cordless EarPod line, the company opted to reveal the conventional headphone jack, forcing users to buy the brand new EarPods. Users can still use the traditional headphones, but will have to connect it to the device with an adaptor.
