iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Comparison: Review of Specs and Features
The iPhone 6 Plus from Apple might have captured a huge share of the phablet market, but the Galaxy Note Edge from Samsung isn't far behind when it comes to specs and performance and is light years ahead in the design department.

Apple traditionally features premium design on its range of smartphones. The iPhone 6 Plus design is no exception. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with its bent tip that runs over the edge has the extra "wow" factor which the iPhone 6 Plus does not have.
Comparing their displays, the iPhone 6 Plus has 5.5-inch LED-backlit screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with a density of 401 pixels-per-inch. The Galaxy Note Edge has a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a much better 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution with a density of 524 pixels-per-inch. The Note Edge in addition has 160 pixels in its curved tip which is also completely independent from the main screen and can be used to view notifications.
As far as specs are concerned, the Galaxy Note Edge has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip coupled with a Quad-core Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz. Compared to this, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with the Apple A8 chip and the dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU. When it comes to RAM the iPhone 6 Plus has 1 GB RAM while the Galaxy Note Edge comes with 3 GB RAM.
The iPhone 6 Plus is sold in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions. They do not have any microSD slots. The Galaxy Note Edge only has two versions – the 32GB and 64GB – but the memory of both versions can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD.
Comparing their cameras, the Galaxy Note Edge has a 16 megapixel rear camera while the iPhone 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel rear camera.
The Galaxy Note Edge is available at $399 on a two-year contract. The iPhone 6 Plus 16 GB version costs $299 with a two-year contract while the 64GB model costs $399 with the same contract.
