iPad Pro 2 release date, specs news 2016: Leaked photos reveal follow-up Apple tablet

The rumors are rife that the next iteration of the iPad Pro is already being developed by Apple. However, the company has neither confirmed nor denied that the iPad Pro 2 will be a reality this year. A recent leak, however, would suggest that Apple may be on its way to release the new iPad Pro. The alleged leaked photos showing the supposed new look of iPad Pro have made rounds on the internet last weekend.

According to Techno Buffalo, the leaked photos online are showing the new 12.9-inch Apple tablet, possibly the new design of the iPad Pro. The images were originally posted in Apple Insider from an anonymous source, therefore the public is being cautioned not to rely on the image details very much. Nevertheless, the pictures appear to be an early prototype of an Apple device from a Chinese supplier. Moreover, the model number of the alleged iPad Pro 2 is indicated as MH1C2CD/F, which further suggests that the tablet is indeed the follow-up of the iPad Pro, which has the model number ML0G2LL/A, or ML0G2LL/A for the cellular version of the tablet.

The device only has 12 GB worth of storage, which does not look to be a major upgrade from the first iPad Pro. However, it is running the latest iOS 10 beta released by Apple at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 last June.

According to the PC Advisor, there is a good possibility that the Cupertino-based tech giant will be unboxing the new iPad Pro model at the company's next huge event this year, which will fall in September. Further supporting this rumor is last year's schedule of release of the first iPad Pro, which also happened in September 2015. After a few months, the iPad Pro had a 9.7-inch variant which was released in March this year.

It is likely that the Apple event in September will also be used to release the new iPad Pro, and it is expected to be accompanied by the iOS 10, which has yet to release its full version.
