iPad Mini 5 release date, news & update: Apple to launch device in March 2017

Amid the cancellation reports of the Apple iPad Mini are more optimistic claims suggesting that the tech giant will be launching the next installment in 2017. Though it hasn't been confirmed, the rumor mill has churned claims suggesting that the iPad Mini 5 will be unveiled in March.
The next installment will reportedly have similar features with another tablet, the iPad Pro 2. PC Advisor acknowledged what analyst Ming Chi-Kuo stated about the tablet. The analyst reportedly believes that the tablet will be on its way in 2017.
Based on Apple's latest move, which was to remove the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack in the iPhone 7. Reports are saying that the iPad Mini 5 will also sport the same feature. Instead, the tablet will introduce USB Type-C ports.
The iPad will reportedly come with 2 GB of RAM and a 128 GB internal storage capacity. Since the iOS 11 will be made available next year, the device could have the latest Apple operating system. Furthermore, reports claim that the Mini will be powered by an A10 processor.
According to Macworld, the device will be thinner compared to its preceding unit. Since the iPad Mini basically has the same features as the Pro tablets, cynical analysts claim that Apple could eventually phase out the Mini and merge it with the Pro instead.
Since Apple has not unveiled nor teased the latest installment in any of their events this year, many are convinced that the tech giant is gearing up to discontinue the iPad Mini.
If the rumors are true, Apple will launch the device in March 2017, alongside the latest installment of the iPad Pro line.
Since Apple has yet to confirm the latest speculations, tech enthusiasts should treat the latest reports as speculation until proven otherwise. Watch out for more updates on Apple's iPad Mini 5.
