Though Apple didn't hint on an upcoming installment for the iPad Air line, Apple junkies still expect the tech giant to release the said device.

Sources say that the iPad Air 3 could be announced sometime in October and released by November. On the other hand, some believe that Apple might be releasing three brand new iPads in March 2017. Meanwhile, there are also rumors stating that the tech giant is developing another device for the iPad Pro line. Hence, the brand new iPad Air installment might be released in March 2017.

Although the company just changed the iPad Air's design for its second generation, Apple still might go for an even slimmer and lighter device. According to reports, the device will be 6.1 millimeters thick. However, rumors suggest that the company might opt for an even thinner unit. The device will be made out of sturdier aluminum material, which will also give the device a thinner design.

Furthermore, the iPad Air 3 will be powered by an A10 chipset. The device might follow the standard Apple measurements of a 9.7-inch screen with  2048 x 1536 resolution. Hence, the device will have a 264 PPI pixel density.

The iPad Air audio quality is also expected to be as good as that of the iPad Pro. Another feature introduced in the Pro that might be added to the iPad Air is the True Tone screen.

The device is still expected to come out in its standard colors: gold, silver and space grey. But the company might decide to add rose gold in the mix.

Reports say that the iPad Air 3 will come in three storage variants: 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB units.

Since Apple still hasn't officially announced the details of the iPad Air 3, Apple junkies should treat the recent updates as speculation until proven otherwise.
