iPad Air 3 release date, specs news & update: Device to launch in 2017?

Little is known about Apple's iPad Air 3 device. However, rumors suggest that the tech giant is developing the unit and Apple junkies might get the upcoming device in 2017.

Market analyst Ming-chi Kuo suggests that the device will come in a 12.9-inch variant, a new 10.5-inch variant and a 9.7-inch variant.

The iPad Air 3 may reportedly come with AMOLED, which will support a high resolution display. With this, the upcoming iPad devices will have a 2,048 x 1,536 resolution and a 264 ppi.

Apple will utilize an A9 processor for the upcoming tablet. The device is also expected to have a powerful camera that rivals the specs of the iPhone 7.The tablet will reportedly have a 12-MP rear camera with optical image stabilization. Meanwhile, its front camera will be a 7 MP FaceTime HD.

The device is also rumored to have a Bluetooth 4.2, lightning ports, as well as a touch ID and fingerprint scanning feature. Moreover, the iPad Air 3 will come with the latest iOS10.

Rumor has it that the iPad Air 3 will support a new Apple Pencil version. Aside from this, the device will come with at least 64 GB of internal storage, with 4 GB of RAM. It will also have a four-speaker audio system, reports say. Though it's rumored to have new additions to the hardware, the device will reportedly be thinner than its preceding units.

The upcoming iPad Air unit will be an economical gadget which is rumored to cost tech junkies £300 (about $382) to £400 (about $510). According to reports, the device will cost around £400 (about $510) if it is released within the year. If it will be launched next year, the price is expected to be less than the aforementioned amount.

The iPad Air 3 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2017. Apple has not yet announced an official release date nor the specs for the third device for the iPad Air line. Hence, the reports should be treated as speculation until proven otherwise.
