iPad Air 3 release date news update: Three days into the WWDC, where is the new iPad Air?

iPad Air fans and tech enthusiasts held out for the Worldwide Developers Conference which opened Monday, June 13, hoping for a whiff of news on the iPad Air 3. But three days into the WWDC, no news came out on the line of mid-sized iPads, strengthening rumors that Apple may have finally pulled the plug on the series.
Although the WWDC is a software-led event, it was still likely, as it has happened in the past. Many also depended on the iPad Air 3's affinity to the iOS 10 software, which was announced at the WWDC, but with no mention at all of the iPad Air 3.
Some argue though that there is still autumn of this year to look out for the newest iPad Air iteration, as no official word from Apple has been released regaarding discontinuing the line.
Still, Apple may choose to split its iPad launches into two yearly events, in the same way some out-and-out Apple iPad followers expect an update on the 4-inch iPhone in spring and the 4.7 and 5.5-inch iPhones in autumn.
There are those who believe it will come out in September, the earliest, while others say it is more likely to be in October, which is the standard release schedule for the previous iPad releases. And still others believe that, as it is, the most likely now would be March 2017.
Though it may seem quite far-fetched to be talking of the expected design and features for the upcoming iPad Air, the public will continue to expect its eventual coming and thus speculate on its rumored design without news saying otherwise.
It is likely that the iPad Air 3 will sport a Smart Connector for the Smart Keyboard Cover, which will allow it to draw from the power provided by the iPad's power source. In the iPad Pro that was most recently released and which has a massive battery source, the potential for long usage times is very high. It is something to be hopeful about in the next iPad Air.
Speculation has it that the new iPad Air may also be compatible with the Apple Pencil, which has only been so far so with the iPad Pro. A lot of iPad Air users have expressed a desire to also have use of this stylus, which is said to be one of the best, if not the best, out in the market.
Other rumors on its design have the iPad Air 3 gaining a thinner, lighter, 7000-series aluminum body coming in four color options of silver, gold, space grey, and rose gold. It is also expected to be a faster make than the iPad Air 2 with an upgrade to a 3-GB RAM and an A10X processor, although many do not accept that it will be faster than the iPad Pro which is only at 2 GB RAM.
