The iPad Air 2 might be billed as the best tablet around, but the Surface Pro 3 has proven that it is a worthy competitor and is actually the choice of many businessmen.
Comparing the two gadgets, the Surface Pro 3 is actually a hybrid between the laptop and a tablet as it has a kickstand which can be easily used to switch it into tablet mode. On the other hand, the iPad Air 2 has no such stand. About their size, the Surface Pro is much bigger in terms of length, breadth and thickness than the iPad Air 2.
Regarding their material, the Surface Pro 3 has a magnesium body while the iPad Air 2 has a full aluminum body. The iPad comes in three colors of silver, gray and gold, while the Surface Pro 3 only comes in silver.
On their display, the Surface Pro 3 has a bigger 12-inch screen while that of the iPad Air 2 is measured at 9.7 inches. However, the smaller screen size is partly positive for the iPad Air 2 as it is 22 percent sharper with a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch while the Surface Pro 3 only has 216 pixels per inch.
The Surface Pro 3 is sold with three options when it comes to chips. It has the Intel i3, 5 and 7 clocked at between 1.5 GHz - 3.3 GHz along with 4GB to 8GB of RAM. Compared to this, the iPad Air 2 has the A8X chip clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2 GB or RAM.
As for internal storage, the iPad Air 2 comes with 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB while the Surface Pro 3 comes with 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB and has a microSD slot which the iPad Air lacks.
