iPad Air 2 vs Nexus 9 Review: Specs, Features Comparison - Apple Beats Google Competitor

The iPad Air 2 boasts of great specs, speed and design, handily beating the Nexus 9 from Google.
Starting with size, the Nexus 9 is noticeable smaller than the iPad Air 2 in terms of height and width. However, in spite of its smaller size, the Nexus 9 is 24 percent thicker than the iPad Air 2 and is only 3 percent lighter. In its build, the iPad Air 2 makes use of aluminum in its unibody chassis while the Nexus 9 uses plastic and has a metal edge. When it comes to colors, the iPad Air 2 comes in three colors -- silver, space gray and gold. The Nexus 9 comes in sand, white and black.
When it comes to screen size, the Nexus 9 has an 8.9-inch screen compared to the 9.7 inches of the iPad Air 2. As far as resolution goes, both have identical 1536 x 2048 pixels. However, since the Nexus 9 has a smaller screen it has a pixel density of 281 pixels per inch compared to the pixel density of 264 pixels per inch on the iPad Air 2. Both these tablets have IPS screens, while only the iPad has an anti-reflective coating.
The iPad Air 2 also has a fingerprint sensor which the Nexus 9 lacks. But the iPad Air 2 doesn't have tap on display which allows users of the Nexus 9 to turn on their tablet by tapping its screen twice.
Comparing specs, the Nexus 9 has the Nvidia Tegra K1chip and the Dual-core Denver CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz coupled with a Kepler DX1 GPU. The iPad Air 2 has a Apple A8X chip and a triple-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz. However, in spite of the slower core speed, the iPad Air 2 manages to outperform the Nexus 9 in speed tests.
Finally comparing prices the 16 GB version of the iPad Air 2 is priced at $365, while the 16 GB Nexus 9 is priced at $339 on eBay.
