iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 Release Date: Users Will Buy iPhone 6 Plus or New iPads

The iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are all set to be released in a special event organized by Apple on October 16th. Digital Trends has noted that the event was originally scheduled for October 20th but has since been rescheduled.
This is welcome news for Apple customers who are waiting for newer versions of the iPad. Even while this release might look minor compared to the excitement that the iPhone 6 generated when it launched, there are several who swear by the iPad and are waiting for it eagerly. The main reason for this is, according to some, that no new iPads have hit the market since last October and some iPad customers have said that they've since started switching to the iPhone 6 Plus.
Bloomberg is also reporting that the sales of iPads have slumped over the last two quarters after it hit record levels of USD 30 billion in 2012. This has caused Apple to consider launching a gold colored version of the iPad Air 2 which might also be released on October 16th.

Digital Trends predicts that the design of the iPad Air 2 is not going to change much from the first version that was released last October, but it is going to thinner. Other design changes include the volume buttons featuring a shallow depression in between them, just like the iPhone 6 has.
As for technology, there is precious little known about the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 specs. However, some are predicting that both the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 will feature much of the same technology as the iPhone 6, including the new 64 bit dual-core Apple A8 processor that was unveiled in the iPhone 6. This according to Apple is much faster than the previous Apple A7 processor, and it also loads graphics 50% faster.
