iOS 8.1.2 Update Review, Features: 'Weak' Update Fails To Address Many Bug Issues
Apple took its customers by surprise when it released its iOS 8.1.2 update recently without any fanfare or even a warning. Users then quickly learned that the new update was rather weak and did not fix many of the bugs in their phones that had been existence since iOS 8 was released.

The iOS 8.1.2 update did have one major purpose, and that was to allow users to recover ringtones they had lost when updating their phone to the new operating system released by Apple. In the update, users were directed towards a URL where they could recover all ringtones purchased on the iTunes Store.
Describing the iOS 8.1.2 in detail, Forbes explains that while the update does have bug fixes, Apple did not bother to provide any information on them in its release notes. Also when comparing the update's size of 28.2 MB to other updates released by Apple, Forbes says it is pretty clear that the update is small.
While ringtone recovery may prove beneficial to some users, others are fuming as they expected Apple to address a number of serious bug issues in their phones. These bugs included spotty WiFi, Bluetooth devices suddenly being disconnected and poor battery life. While Apple addressed many issues with its iOS 8.1.1 update which it released last month, many people are still struggling with bugs that affect how they use their devices.
Forbes also says that Apple has not made clear when they will solve all the bugs that iOS 8 brought to their devices. With very little information coming from the company, it looks likely that the bugs will only be fixed when iOS 8.2 is released. iOS 8.2 will include the WatchKit and its API which will allow Apple devices to communicate with the Apple Watch.
However, even though iOS 8.2 was sent out to developers about the time when iOS 8.1.1 was released, users will not get the update until sometime in the spring of 2015.
