Apple has officially introduced the new iOS 10 update for iPhones and iPads, packing with new features that aim to improve the users' mobile phone experience. The unveiling happened at the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where most of their biggest projects for the year are announced. According to their presentation, iOS 10 will feature RAW photo capture for the first time although the fans are still waiting for news about the file manager.

The iOS 10 is certainly on the way as the Developer Preview of the new iOS update has already begun. In fact, a public beta testing is scheduled to roll out sometime in July, Yibada has learned.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has revealed many of their big projects rolling out in the coming months, although the participants of the conference have taken notice of the new iOS update, which has already been rumored to appear in the WWDC event for the past several weeks. Perhaps the most interesting content of the iOS 10 is the RAW images file capture, Cult of Mac reported. With this latest feature, the users can now save their captured image in RAW and uncompressed format.

The purpose of RAW image files is to give more details subject for editing after the photos were captured. RAW images can be edited using a third-party photo editing application or software like Adobe Photoshop. RAW files are very important especially for professional photographers because their tools for photography such as DSLR capture images in RAW file type. Being uncompressed, RAW files are quite large, although it allows further editing or enhancements of the photos. After editing, the files can be compressed into a certain image type, like the popular JPEG format.

One major problem with RAW files for iPhones and iPads is that they take up a large space of the users' memory card. Those who own a 16GB model will have to transfer RAW files to a larger space more often after shooting images.

Amid all of the exciting features of iOS 10, Forbes reported that the latest update has nothing about the stock file manager. Users have been hoping to have a file manager for their iOS devices to make file actions easier. It is quite the hassle for the users to organize, transfer, copy and junk files as they still have to do those actions through a Mac desktop or iTunes.
