Like "Injustice: Gods Among Us," the sequel "Injustice 2" will also feature guest characters from the "Mortal Kombat" universe and beyond, who appears to have been named.

NetherRealms Studios creative director Ed Boon gave fans the power to choose who to include in a Twitter poll. The gamers have voted for Subzero and Spawn the most.

The former was up against Raiden, Johnny Cage and Jax. "Almost 20,000 of you spoke and it seems like Subzero would be your choice of an MK guest character in Injustice 2. We hear ya," Boon tweeted.

Spawn (created by Todd McFarlane) was the non-"Mortal Kombat" character fans want to be added in "Injustice 2." The other choices were Hellboy, Terminator and "Buffy. "Almost 30,000 of you let us know that you wanna see SPAWN in Injustice 2. Are you sure?" Boon quipped in response to the poll result.

From the looks of it, Boon will follow the wishes of the majority and add Spawn and Subzero as playable characters in "Injustice 2."

Interestingly, Scorpion was the only one added in the first game. It appears that for the sequel, two guest playable characters will now be added. Boon even suggested the possibility of having Hellboy as the third character.

When a Twitter fan told him that they chose the wrong character and that Hellboy should be the one to be added in "Injustice 2," he teased "What [about] both?"

He also teased that "There are so many more DC [characters] coming" and added that the returning characters will have new moves.

When asked about the possible addition of Godspeed, the latest The Flash villain, to "Injustice 2," he did not answer the question but just commented on the baddie's costume.

As for the addition of Starfire, who fans also voted on a Twitter poll a few months back, Boon is yet to give his word on her addition yet.

"Injustice 2" will be released sometime next year.
