'Injustice 2' release date rumors: PS4 launch likely March 2017; More characters rumored to join roster

The upcoming fighting game sequel "Injustice 2" will be featuring a bigger roster of DC characters. While the complete list of popular comic book heroes and villains has yet to be revealed, there is a growing speculation that NetherRealm is not yet confirming most of the characters included in the lineup. As of the meantime, it is expected that the game will be released early 2017.
It was suggested by a French video gaming blog site, Game Blog, that NetherRealm may release "Injustice 2" in all home consoles and platforms in the early months of next year. Specifically, the PlayStation 4 version of the game sequel may arrive as early as March 2017. However, for the Xbox One and PC platforms, it has yet to be confirmed whether the game version for these gaming devices will be released together with PS4.
Several fans are looking forward to "Injustice 2," especially the DC comic book fanboys who want to see their favorite DC characters in action. As reported by Game Rant, names such as Beast Boy, Starfire, Red Hood, King Shark, Darkseid, Captain Boomerang, John Constantine, Swamp Thing, and Jonah Hex are possible to be included in the "Injustice 2" roster, as people have been clamoring to have these characters in the game. It was earlier reported that Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and The Flash are all returning to the sequel as playable games. For the new additions, the fans can expect Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd and Deadshot to be in the lineup of fighters.
On the other hand, players can expect more new and exciting contents added to the gameplay of "Injustice 2." According to Movie News Guide, there is the chance that the environment during a battle will be more active this time in the sequel. For example, when a battle gets too intense and destructive, the players can see the surroundings also getting affected during the fight, like when a character gets thrown at the wall and was broken down in the process. Likewise, the battle arena may be set in multi-level. This means that as the players advance to a new battle, the arena will also be changed. Lastly, the players can expect better loot drops and use them to improve their characters in the game.
