Apple is reportedly aiming for a launch this October, and there are speculations that the newest iMac will be unveiled in the said event.

According to a recent report from MacRumors, the tech giant is moving toward a major reveal of the new MacBook Pro models, and the much-hyped iMac could be a part of that roster. The unveiling comes with the Cupertino-based company's work on macOS 10.12.1 which is largely centered on preparing the operating system to support the devices' new features. The media outlet also noted that there will be one more beta version of macOS 10.12.1 for developer and public beta testing scheduled to roll out early next week. Based on the timeline, Apple may be unveiling the new devices sometime later this month or early November.

Rumor has it that the 2016 iMac will feature the Polaris 10 graphics chips, while the new MacBooks will get the Polaris 11. The new device is also believed to have an AMD graphics card that allows Virtual Reality, making it a good choice for state-of-the-art gaming. If the rumors prove to be true, this recent shift will open Apple's doors to more game developers. Aside from widening the scope of the company's target consumers, Apple's newest gaming features might even beat rival tech company Microsoft's desktops.

Another notable feature the 2016 iMac will have is the Super Ultra HD 5K display. Throughout the years, Apple has proven to be an innovator in terms of providing consumers with superior quality experience. Most of the TVs currently in the market boast 4K displays, which is already considered a very high resolution for viewing. Apple, however, is reportedly taking it up a notch and using the higher 5K display for its flagship desktop.

Apple has yet to confirm if the rumored release date window is true. For users who want to get their hands on the latest 2015 iMac, the desktop computer is currently available for $1,099.00 to $2,299.00.
