Many Apple fans are definitely looking forward to the upcoming annual Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016. The company is known to showcase its up and coming software and devices during the event. One of the most anticipated products at this year's event is the new iMac 2016. The current iMac in the market today has just been released last year; however, Apple fanatics are expecting the company to release another model this year.

Nonetheless, there is a pretty slim chance that Apple iMac 2016 may skip the event as the Cupertino-based company has continued to stay mum about its development. The current iteration was released in October 2015. It has the latest Skylake processors from Intel, which runs at 4.0 GHz quad-core i7 chips for some variants. The smaller models of the iMac desktop line already have Retina display feature, which is a huge upgrade from the previous models.

Other features of the 2015 iMac include a USB 3, Thunderbolt 2 and the reliable Gigabit Ethernet ports. These features are some of the best in the market today.

According to a report by GameNGuide, the 2016 iteration may feature the next-generation processors from Intel called "Kaby Lake." Although, it still has the same 14nm manufacturing design similar to the current Skylake, the Kaby Lake is said to have additional features including a 4K video playback and an improved 3D graphics.

If rumors prove to be true, the new iMac may not arrive until late this year or early 2017. According to reports, the Kaby Lake processor from Intel is not expected to hit the market until the last quarter of this year.

Nonetheless, fans are expecting the company to provide solid details with regard to its development and release date at the upcoming WWDC 2016. As of the moment, all reports should be considered as merely just rumors and speculations.
