Iggy Azalea News 2015: Reveals Painful Joint Disorder After New Year Celebration
Rap artist Iggy Azalea has been having a stellar year with her singles topping several charts. She has received several accolades, including the Favorite Album - Rap/Hip-Hop Award at the American Music Awards.
However, she dropped a huge bomb that saddened her fans when she announced on Twitter on New Year's Day that she had been diagnosed with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction.
TMJ is characterized by pain in the muscles that help move the jaw bone. It can also involve the surrounding temporomandibular joints.
While the exact cause of the disorder is not known, it is widely believed that stress can exacerbate the situation.
Azalea made the revelation in her tweets. "Last month I was diagnosed with TMJ which isn't the best," she said. "I'm gonna make an effort to take care of myself in 2015, stay away from drama & hopefully will not have any flair ups."
Azalea also wished her fans the best for the New Year and asked them to "look after your body and mind in the new year, be safe and enjoy."
On her Twitter account, Azalea also provided more details about her album which she is busy working on.
As for the New Year, she celebrated the occasion with her boyfriend Nick Young at Drai's Beach Club Nightclub in Las Vegas.
In the nightclub, Azalea was the center of attention and was dressed in a fringed metallic dress. She also performed on stage. When the clock struck midnight, Young joined her on stage where they were showered with confetti.
The couple, who recently celebrated their first anniversary, gave each other special gifts for Christmas. Azalea bought him a vintage Chevrolet while Young got her a diamond necklace.
The rap artist also appeared on the show "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" hosted by Ryan Seacrest which was telecast on Dec. 31. She performed along with other artists such as Fergie, Charli XCX and Jason DeRulo.
